MJF Student Chapters
MJF Student Chapters provide a forum for law students to work together on issues of social justice and professional responsibility. The Student Chapter at each campus reflects the unique character and mission of the three law school student bodies. Each Student Chapter organizes a variety of events and activities that complement and enhance the overall mission of MJF on its campus.
At each law school, the MJF Student Chapter raises money during the year to support one or more summer clerkships in public interest law for fellow student(s). In conjunction with the MJF Summer Fellowship Program which offers paid summer public interest experiences open to students at all three Minnesota law schools, these design-your-own clerkships provide students with additional options for paid summer employment.
Some of the student chapters organize panels and roundtable discussions which focus on various topics in public interest law and legal ethics. Student chapters may also coordinate group volunteer opportunities which allow the entire chapter to take part in a law-related volunteer project together.
Whatever your specific interests are, the MJF Student Chapter at your school is a good way to meet fellow students who are dedicated to public interest law and to take part in fun activities that will challenge you, broaden your horizons, and expand the scope of your legal education.
If you would like to get involved in your school’s Student Chapter of the Minnesota Justice Foundation, contact your school’s MJF staff attorney.
